The Secondary Technical Center (STC) has Career & Technical Education programs in two different buildings: a main campus and an upper campus.  All STC courses are 2 hour blocked 1 credit semester classes.  Approximately 1,100 students attend STC from East, Central, Denfeld, Unity, ALC, Hermantown, Proctor, Esko, Cloquet, Merrit Creek Academy, Chester Creek Academy, Woodland Hills Academy and Albrook.  Students are in grades nine through twelve. Additionally, an Accelerated 8th Grade Collaboration is in its fifth year of implementation.  Participating students are from Ordean, Lincoln, Woodland and Morgan Park.

STC provides a unique, exciting and rigorous learning environment for each student who chooses to attend classes here.  Up-to-date technology and classrooms that simulate the "real world" are an integral part of the curriculum.  In all classes students immediately apply what they learn.  Students work cooperatively and in teams to find creative and practical solutions to problems.  Students research career opportunities in their field of interest through interviews, use of technology, job shadowing, and/or apprenticeship/internship experiences.  Career assessment and evaluation services are available for all students.  Students who master outcomes may receive college credit in addition to high school credit; subsequently, with good career planning and technical preparation, students graduate with "an edge."
