Review the basic skills needed to be successful in college or on the job. These skills may include math, reading, writing, study skills, or computer basics.
You may also request information on applying to colleges and financial aid, and you can practice the necessary skills for the placement test given at local colleges. Pre-vocational skills building is available for those who wish to enter nursing assistant or clerical/office training programs.
A special class is offered at SOAR-Career Solutions for people who want to build the necessary skills for any of the job training programs which SOAR offers throughout the year.
"Basic Computer Skills for Employment" class is offered each month at the Duluth Workforce Center to build the skills need to use the computer to seek jobs, apply for jobs, or perform basic computer work on the job.
The "Pathway to College Success" class and open lab is offered fall, spring and summer terms at Lake Superior College to provide preparation for the Accuplacer placement test and information on the college's requirements and programs.
