Payment for lunch in the cafeterias is expected at the time the meal is served or in other words "lunches must be prepaid".

How do I put money on my child's lunch account?
Parents have three options to pay for their child's lunch account:

Online -The website is http://www.paypams.com/. This is a secure online payment system for parents and students to pay for school meals. To get started you will need to create an account at www.paypams.com and deposit money. You will need a credit card for payment or they will take the payment out of your bank account. Effective July 1, 2011 PAYPAMS will charge a convenience fee of $1.95 per student for each payment submitted online. Note: Money paid is delayed by 24 hours. The district does not profit from you using this system, it is for your convenience. You are able to check account balances and what your student is choosing to eat at any time.

Check -Write a check to Child Nutrition and mail to 215 N 1st Ave East, Duluth, 55802 or to the School Cafe and send with the student to school. The student name and student number are required on the check memo line.

Cash -Parents may send cash in a sealed envelope with the student's name printed on the envelope. The student's teacher will turn the envelope in to the cafe for deposit in the student's account, or student's may pay cash on a daily basis at the register.

The school district no longer "forgives" outstanding lunch debt. Consistent with the treatment of other debts owed to the school district, all outstanding debt related to the lunch program will be subject to handling by a collection agency.

How do parents know when their child's lunch account is running low?
Becoming a PAMS parent (setting up a PAM'S account and paying by credit card) provides the opportunity to check balances from any computer. Also, when setting up the PAMS account, there is an option whereby parents can choose to receive an e-mail letting them know that their child's balance has reached a certain amount set by the parent (suggested amount $10.00)

Parents can check on "Infinite Campus" for the lunch balance for the student. The Duluth School District also has a low balance call system. When your student's balance reaches $5.00 or less, an automated call goes out to the household (using the phone number on file) letting the parent know the amount of the balance. The parent then knows it is time to make another deposit into the account as soon as possible.

How are returned checks handled?

• Money will be withdrawn from the meal account.
• Subject to a $30.00 service charge.
• School district does have recourse to collect delinquent debt.
