Email Information  

Email is a vital communication tool parents, students, and staff.  This page will provide staff with helpful information regarding the District's email system.

The standard email configuration is based on the information provided to the Human Resources department.  A report is run daily for the Employee Directory against records from HR.  The standard email configuration is as follows:

This is the email address the employee would need to communicate to others.  If there are two David Matthews working for the District special configurations with apply.

Note:  To log onto the computer network, you will still use your username.  This will not change.

Guidelines for Password Content

The following guidelines must be followed when changing your password for Network/Email accounts.

  1. Does not contain all or part of the user's account name

  2. Is at least six characters in length and a maximum of 8

  3. Contains characters fro three of the following four categories

    • English upper case character (A...Z)

    • English lower case character (a...z)

    • Base 10 digits (0...9)

    • Nonalphanumeric (For example, !, $, #, %)

Also, the system will "remember your previous passwords and will not allow you to repeat passwords or patterns of passwords.  An example would be your password is:   Mypass1  You can't change it to Mypass2 as the system will "recognize the pattern.


Requests to reset passwords

All requests to reset passwords must be directed to the building secretary.

For security reasons the Technology Department will not accepts requests via telephone.  All reset requests should be sent to
AccountReset@duluth.k12.mn.us .  Only certain employees (such as school secretaries) have rights to email this account, all others will receive and error message.
