The Duluth Public School District needs substitutes, both certified (teachers) and non-certified (para professionals, clerical staff, custodians, and food service). Half day, full day and some evening opportunities are available. Substituting can work around your schedule!
New substitutes to the District will be required to complete an online application, complete the 12 step Substitute Hiring Orientation Process below, and the New Hire Packet below. See new substitue information below.

After your application is completed return to this page and under Categories below, click on the folders to complete the Substitute Hiring Orientation Process and New Hire Packet online forms. Then go to the Human Resources Office Room 202, for processing the information and a picture for your badge.
Returning substitutes that have worked in the past school year proceed to hiring orientation process below. Remember it is always a good idea to update your application with your experiences from the previous year. There have been updates added in the information below, so please read them. If you have not worked in over a year please follow the New Substitutes instructions below.
Returning substitutes remember after you have finished #12 you can come to Human Resources Room 202 and have your picture taken for your ID badge if you do not have one.
All Substitutes whether new or returning, if your name does not appear in step #12 when you go in to the link, in the drop down box, please call Human Resources 218-336-8700, ext. 1057.
New Substitutes, remember do the application first, then the 12 step process below, fill out the new hire packet below and print out, and then bring in two forms of identification, voided check, copy of licenses and the new hire packet filled out when you come in. You will be able to enter all the information needed on the forms. Print it and bring it to the Human Resources Office Room 202, for processing. We will also take your picture for your badge.
